Discovering the Forgotten Half
Discovering the Forgotten Half, is an adventure documentary-series, following presenter and filmmaker Asra Hussain's one-year solo backpacking journey across Pakistan - from the Chinese border in the world's tallest mountains, through cities, deserts and plains, to the Arabian Sea near Iran. What began as a short trip to reconnect with her grandfather and great-grandfather's homeland, quickly became a year-long odyssey - uncovering stories of mountain tribes, indigenous communities and remote regions rarely seen by the outside world. Blending travel, heritage and powerful human storytelling, the series explores identity, belonging and forgotten histories. Through uncovering the stories of others, Asra eventually discovers her own. Supported by the Andy Taylor Foundation and brought to life in partnership with the University of Warwick.
