On the eve of her due date, Kseniya Makeeva learns that her mother and husband have died in an accident. Despite the shock, she gives birth to a son, Antoshka. However, the boy dies shortly after birth. Kseniya's cousin, Dina, an obstetrician-gynecologist at the maternity hospital, is hesitant to tell her the truth.
