Burn It Down

Chicago suburbs, 1950s. Detective Nicholas Burn is losing the war with his own memories - he left the force, left the city, and settled in a sleepy town where nobody knows his name, spending his nights at the bottom of a glass. His new life as a private investigator promises nothing but quiet oblivion. Then a young woman turns up dead in the alley behind the El Dorado bar, and the body looks like Madeline - the woman he couldn't keep and couldn't forget. Nick soon discovers that Madeline is very much alive, singing on the El Dorado stage every night and terrified she'll be next. Saving her means digging up everything he buried.
