Ashok Kumar
ASHOK KUMAR is a dark, gripping thriller that exposes the underbelly of systematic corruption and human trafficking in a seemingly ordinary Indian city. The series opens with unidentified bodies being dumped on a bridge-victims with faces so brutally destroyed they become nameless cases filed as "Ashok Kumar." The local police, led by corrupt IIC Ajay and SI Ranjit, routinely close these cases as accidents, profiting from their silence. Chandrakant, a 60-year-old mortuary technician haunted by his past, performs post-mortems on these nameless victims alongside his colleagues Prafulla and Ratnakar. His life shatters when he identifies victim number 19 through a birthmark-his daughter Sriya, whom he lost ten years ago during a drunken moment at a bus stop. Enter SI Sumitra, an idealistic young police officer determined to fight the corrupt system from within. When Gayatri reports her journalist brother Biraja missing, and driver Manas desperately searches for his lover Neha, their paths converge with Chandrakant's tragedy. The investigation unravels a chilling network: Nana runs a "travel agency" that's actually a front for trafficking young girls. His clients include powerful businessman Pandya and even a prominent politician advocating for women's rights. Corrupt officers Ajay and Ranjit ensure the operation runs smoothly, disposing of evidence and silencing threats. Biraja had been investigating this network, planning a sting operation with Neha to expose them. But his efforts led to his murder, his body becoming another "Ashok Kumar." Unable to trust the system, Chandrakant, Prafulla, Ratnakar, and Manas take justice into their own hands. They kidnap, torture, and kill both Nana and Pandya, disposing of their bodies the same way-as "Ashok Kumar" cases, completing a brutal cycle of poetic justice. Satya Meva Jayate-Truth Alone Triumphs. But at what cost?
