This documentary series ventures into that hidden world and follows people who are active at night, whether out of professional necessity, personal passion or a conscious decision to live outside the conventional day and night rhythm. The series offers an authentic and multi layered portrait of a metropolis after dark. By combining close observational storytelling with personal narratives, individual experiences come together to form a realistic and intimate exploration of the city after sunset. At its core are diverse ways of life that exist simultaneously and shape the city in the darkness, sometimes visible, sometimes unseen, sometimes loud, sometimes quiet, restless and calm at the same time. Across two episodes, the series accompanies people who give form to Vienna after nightfall. The first episode dives into the city's pulsating and sound filled night. We ride through empty streets with a taxi driver, listen to a radio host during her nighttime broadcast, experience a band's singer between performance and departure, and follow a bartender through a long and demanding shift. Conversations, music and spontaneous encounters convey the unique energy of the nighttime hours. The second episode turns to the quieter and often overlooked sides of the city. It portrays bakers at work in the early morning hours, a sausage stand owner as a nocturnal social meeting point, a fairground worker in the Prater moving between bright lights and moments of stillness, and a look inside a sleep laboratory where a biomedical analyst accompanies the night through scientific observation.
