The Policewoman
The film chronicles Narelle's journey from young constable in the 1980's, to a respected and highly skilled detective with Victoria Police. It depicts her 'real life' story, yet is told with creative license, including archival footage, interviews and re-enactments using miniature models. These re-enactments support her memories in an internal way as she recounts the events and encounters that shaped her police life. THE POLICEWOMAN will demonstrate original thought and expression via the representation of these memories and triggers in 'miniature models' which will be filmed in a haunting and theatrical way. The re-creations are credible, because they are about her reliving and her 'reconstructing' her experiences as they relate to her. The film interprets Narelle's memories, from her point of view, as they exist in her mind now and are explored in a highly emotional way, as it is impossible to avoid the feelings they invoke in her.
