In 1980s South Central Los Angeles, Murash, a violent drug lord hiding behind a liquor store front, rules his empire with fear and precision. When Miguel, a young immigrant boy from Michoacán, is bullied and beaten by the streets, Murash sees a reflection of his own lost innocence-and takes him in. He protects the boy fiercely, placing him under the care of his right-hand man, Bubba-a loyal enforcer desperate to fund a life-saving surgery for his sick daughter.
